  • THANKSGIVING PIE SALE

    Order your pies now!

    Too much on your plate this year?! Make life easier and let us take care of your thanksgiving pie orders.

    Everyone loved last year’s pies and quiches so much that we are partnering with Meredith’s Breads once again.

    Homemade and preservative-free, Meredith’s pies (including gluten-free options) and quiches are not only delicious, but a portion of every sale goes back to Booker T. 

    This year, we have added even more options! Treat yourself to as many 10" pies as you like for your thanksgiving dinner. Traveling for Thanksgiving but want to partake in the fundraiser? Give back and donate a pie to the Ascension Food Pantry for their community Thanksgiving dinner or celebrate our amazing Booker T. staff and donate a pie for their annual pie party.

    Pies and quiches must be picked up on Tuesday, November 24th between 3pm and 5pm in the lobby. Your child is welcome to pick them up (if you trust them, of course)!

    Be sure to stop by our pop-up School Store event during pickup to get a head start on holiday shopping!

  • Stop Bullying

    October is National Bullying Prevention month. We want to encourage students and staff to participate in raising awareness about the harmful effects of bullying and how together we can support prevention, intervention, and reduce incidents.

    We are asking staff and students to wear an orange shirt on Friday, October 23 to send a visible message that no child or adult should ever experience bullying.
     
    Monday, October 26th is Mix it Up at "Lunch Day". We are asking students and staff to cross social boundaries, move out of their comfort zone, and connect with someone new over lunch.

  • PIVOT TO REMOTE DAY

    ELECTION DAY REMOTE ATTENDANCE: Tuesday, 11/3/26

    Students will attend school remotely on Election Day. They will log in from home and complete an assignment on Google Classroom. Teachers will assign work to students as appropriate.

    To participate, students will need:

    1. A working, internet-enabled device,
    2. An internet connection, and
    3. Their student login information. 

    Families of students who do not have access to a computer or other device at home may request a remote learning iPad device by using this request form. We will do our best to accommodate.

  • Set Up Your NYC Schools Account

    ​Did you know that you can track your child’s education on any computer, phone, or tablet?
     
    You can sign up for an account by entering a few basic details. This will allow you to begin receiving notifications from the DOE. It only takes five minutes, and it is the first step in getting a full account.

    NYC Schools Account (NYCSA) is a DOE online service that lets you access important information about your child on any device. The website is accessible in nine languages.

    The NYC Schools Account allows you to view your child’s grades, report cards, attendance history, test scores, transportation information, IEP information, track your child’s progress to graduation, and more to come!  Step-by-step instructions are provided at the link below.

    The new NYCSA Mobile application will be available for parents and guardians during the Fall term of the new school year 2023-24. Parents who wish to use the app must first create a NYCSA account on a desktop or laptop computer. The NYCSA mobile app does not provide all the features of the desktop app. It will be available soon on Google Play or the Apple App Store at no cost!

Students arriving after homeroom will be marked late.

 Booker T. Academy is from 8:00 am - 8:40 am and from 3:00 pm - 3:40 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. View teacher schedules.

Families can use the app to see where their student’s bus is on their route with real-time updates, so families can be sure that their child is reaching their destination in a safe and timely manner.  This easy-to-use app is now available on the Apple app store and the Google Play store.
