General Information

Booker T. Washington Middle School is located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Drawing its 840 middle-schoolers from District 3, the school is made up of grades six, seven and eight. The traditional program focuses on teaching students to be strong students, equipped with excellent writing, reading and reasoning skills. Graduates go on to the city’s strongest high schools.

  • Screened academic classes with Regents opportunities
  • ICT and self-contained classes on each grade level
  • Early Academy Program to provide small group academic support
  • Full elective program in music and art
  • Library: The school library has 29,000 items in the collection, as well as a full-time librarian.
  • Technology: Two full computer labs, a school-wide computer network, laptop carts, every classroom is equipped with interactive boards and internet access.
