Lunar New Year Festival
The Asian Pacific Islander American Association hosts an annual Lunar New Year Festival where attendees enjoy free activities and food. There are arts and crafts such as calligraphy, lantern-making, dragon-making, and tiger painting. There are also events such as a raffle and performances. Most of all, this is a chance for MS54 students, staff and families to have fun and celebrate the Lunar New Year together.

GENDER SEXUALITY ALLIANCE
Students interested in meeting peers in the LGBTQ+ community across all grades should consider joining the Gender Sexuality Alliance. The GSA is a safe space for all students to be themselves and to discuss LGBTQ+ issues, problems and experiences - while both improving the schools community and of course, hanging out with friends and having fun!
The group meets in Room 101 every Monday at 8am. If you are interested in joining us or have questions, please sign up for more info (you must have a DOE account) or e-mail Mr. Chilelli.
